We are open during the summer, the days/hours vary. Please contact us at (718) 440 – 3541 for further information. How long are each session? Each group session is one-hour long. Private sessions can vary based on student need. Why does my child have to take the assessment? The assessment is required in order for us to create their individualized learning plan that is unique to your child. Each child is at a different level in their academic career, and thus should not have to learn material they already know or be forced to learn material they are not yet ready for. The assessment pinpoints both their reading and math levels down to the sub-skill level. And this ensures success! When can I cancel? And am I tied to a contract? Our policy requires that parents give us a 30-day advanced notice when they would like to discontinue any tutoring services. Nope! All of our programs are no contract! How many students are in a class? This varies on the classroom. Some classrooms hold more, some hold less. However, what’s most important is the teacher to student ratio. Our teacher to student ratio is 1:6, so no matter the classroom size, this ratio is always the same! How many times per week should my child be attending? This depends of course on the needs of your child and parent budget. However, we do strongly recommend a minimum of 2 sessions (two-hours long) per week. We offer a one time per week option as well for parents who cannot make it more than once. Do you assign homework? No. Tip-Top Brain is a NO HOMEWORK ZONE! We understand how much work our students already receive in school, and so we do not believe that adding to that load will do any good. We want our students coming and leaving with a positive mental attitude. They are here for help or to improve certain skills, not to go home with a book bag full of extra work. The camp has a great designed so the children engaged in learning something new or discovering new ways to tackle each activity while also freshen up on their ela and math skills. Highly recommended!

I like how their program focuses on ELA and Math in the morning and then the kids get to go to the park in the afternoon. This summer’s theme was Little Chef. So in their STEAM classes, they learned how to make all different kinds of foods and ate it afterwards! My son is excited to go again next year! We receive a lovely email describing her work and areas for improvement after each class, and she really likes the teacher, who is both kind and effective. We have been searching for this type of class for quite some time, as our daughter reads well, but is not very verbal and has difficulty writing, and in only a couple of months, she has made noticeable improvement. We definitely plan to keep her enrolled for the foreseeable future. We highly recommend!

What's astounding to me is how he loves going there for his twice a week sessions. He used to hate math, but tonight he told me he wanted to practice more. I believe it's the instruction he has received at Tip Top Brain. I had researched Kumon as well, but at Tip Top Brain the help is personalized for the child, is aligned with Common Core standards, and doesn't rely just on rote drill. In addition to tutoring they also have great Coding classes. My son has loved this class! I highly recommend this center!
