STEAM Educator – Robotics and Coding

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced STEAM Educator specializing in Robotics and Coding to join our dynamic team. As a STEAM Educator, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering dynamic and engaging lessons that inspire students to explore and excel in STEAM-related subjects.

Key Responsibility

  1. Develop and deliver lesson plans: Create comprehensive lesson plans that incorporate hands-on activities, demonstrations, and interactive learning experiences in robotics and coding. These lessons should be designed to stimulate curiosity and encourage active student participation.
  2. Adapt teaching methods: Adapt your teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students. Use differentiated instruction techniques to ensure that every student has an opportunity to succeed and thrive.
  3. Create an inclusive learning environment: Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where students feel safe, valued, and supported. Encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among students.
  4. Collaborate with educators: Collaborate with other educators to design and implement interdisciplinary STEAM projects and activities. Foster a team-oriented approach that promotes creativity, innovation, and cross-disciplinary learning.
  5. Evaluate student performance: Assess and evaluate student performance to measure learning outcomes. Provide constructive feedback to students, parents, and guardians to support their growth and development.
  6. Professional development: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and best practices in STEAM education. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in robotics, coding, and educational technology.
  7. Effective communication: Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators to provide updates on student progress, address concerns, and collaborate on strategies to support student success. Maintain open lines of communication to foster a strong partnership between home and school.
  8. STEAM-related events: Assist in organizing and participating in STEAM-related events, workshops, and competitions. Encourage students to showcase their skills and achievements in a broader context.

Key Competencies/Success Factors

  • Teaching certification or license in a relevant subject area.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations, including various age groups and learning abilities.
  • Knowledge of other STEAM disciplines and the ability to integrate them into robotics and coding lessons.
  • Familiarity with various STEAM education frameworks, such as Project-Based Learning (PBL), Inquiry-Based Learning, and Design Thinking.
  • Active involvement in relevant professional organizations, such as the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) or the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA).

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEAM-related field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Education.
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in robotics, coding, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in programming languages, such as Python, Java, C++, Scratch, Tynker, and Blockly.
  • Hands-on experience with robotics platforms, such as Raspberry Pi, LEGO Mindstorms, or VEX Robotics.
  • Strong understanding of educational technology and digital tools for teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for inspiring and nurturing curiosity and creativity in students.

The pay rate for the position of STEAM Educator specializing in Robotics and Coding is $30-$45 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
