It all started with an email notification on July 21, 2014 that our founder, Ms. Ourania, a proud Astorian native, received in her inbox titled: “We Want You to Audition!” After making it through two rounds of auditions, she was invited to Los Angeles as an official contestant for Wheel of Fortune! Yes, you read that right, Ms. Ourania was on national television! She recalls that everything: each spin, commercial break, sitting backstage, meeting Pat Sajak, Vanna White, and other fellow contestants was surreal! Walking out of the studio, on a sunny Californian December afternoon and head held high, she knew exactly what her next step was: “I’m going to open up my own learning center!” And that’s exactly what she did. It demanded months of sleepless nights: choosing the perfect paint colors, agreeing to the best logo, and most importantly, figuring out what she wanted the kids to get out of their education when they’d arrive, but she was relentless. With her passions in science, education, and children’s mental health, it was her goal to bring all of these together. And so she did. Tip-Top Brain, officially opened at the end of September of 2015, and we can proudly say that it is an educational environment composed of positive mental health, an individualized approach to education, and passionate instructors, all of which have a foundation in neuroscience and psychology.
